Course Description
Learn the subject of Navigation, up to the standard required as part of the ‘Navigation’ theoretical exam towards an EASA Private Pilot License. Required syllabi outlined as per FCL.215 of Part-FCL.
After completing the course, the student pilot will have acquired the knowledge explaining the concepts of navigation, reading and using the charts, basic radio navigation aids, using the flight computer, and others. All of these skills are especially important during the cross-country flights.
Key concepts covered include:
- Charts
- Speed / Time / Distance
- Direction, Compass, Effects of Wind
- Altimetry
- Radio Navigation Basics (DME, VOR, NDB/ADF, Direction Finding, GPS)
- Using the Flight Computer (CRP-1/5, E6B, Jeppesen CR-2/3/5)
